New Letter from Gullo Toyota:

Hello,

As I had mentioned in my previous correspondence, I would be following up with any additional information as it became available.  Toyota has gained approval and has a comprehensive plan to fix the accelerator pedal issue.  With that, there are several things that are important for you to know.  First, we are receiving the parts today, and will begin working on vehicles as soon as they have arrived.  Gullo Toyota has dedicated not only time, but shop space and certified technicians to handle the increased recall traffic flow.  Additionally, Toyota has assured us that we will have an ample supply of parts.  However, our initial supply will be limited.  Therefore, we have put in place a reservation process to ensure that our existing customers are the first to be served.  I will detail this reservation process below. Please know that Toyota is moving as quickly as possible to ensure that all dealerships will have a continuous stock of parts.  Finally, the floor mat entrapment issue is going to be dealt with in phases.  You will be notified when you particular vehicle will be eligible to be modified.  This information is forthcoming from Toyota as early as next week for some models.

As we move forward, there will be many questions I am sure.  Toyota has been communicating in several different media outlets, and remains confident of the diagnosis.  I have found that www.toyota.com has been the most up to date and reliable source for frequently asked questions, phone numbers, press releases and general updates.

Internally, we are doing what we can to accommodate our customers.  Effective immediately, we will be offering you the opportunity to reserve your spot for the repairs.  You can request your reservation by going to www.gullotoyota.com/ServiceScheduler.aspx , or by calling Nakita Collier directly at 936-442-4185.  This will prompt a call from a service representative to discuss your options and appointment and parts availability.  We look forward to serving you during this time and are available for any further questions or concerns you may have.

Again, thank you for your time and patience.

Sincerely,

Shawn Mize

Hello,

On behalf of Gullo Toyota, I wanted to take this opportunity to address the recently announced voluntary recall by Toyota Motors to you, our customer.  On January 21, Toyota filed a Defect Information Report with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on certain accelerator pedal assemblies.  The vehicles affected by the recall are:

·        2009-2010 Corolla

·        2009-2010 Matrix

·        2007-2010 Camry

·        2005-2010 Avalon

·        2009-2010 RAV4

·        2010           Highlander

·        2007-2010 Tundra

·        2008-2010 Sequoia

It has been determined that a condition may exist in the accelerator mechanisms in these vehicles that, in rare instances, mechanically stick in a partially depressed position or return slowly to the idle position.  There are very few instances on record.  However, wanting to immediately address the concerns of their customers, Toyota voluntarily issued the recall and has halted sales for the above models for a short period of time.  Contrary to many different media reports, Toyota has identified the issue and has prepared the remedy and has filed the necessary NHSTA paperwork to expedite all of the affected vehicle repairs.  In order to act expeditiously, Toyota has announced a halt of production in several plants.  This is being done solely to accommodate the production of the necessary part for the modifications.

As a customer of ours, your vehicle, your trust, and most importantly your safety is our utmost concern.  While the media has announced in its own way the details of the recall, I feel it is important for you to know what Gullo Toyota, along with Toyota Motors, is doing to address the concerns of those that matter- you.  Rest assured, if you are experiencing any complications, or if your vehicle is found to be malfunctioning, you and your family’s safety will be addressed and will not be pushed aside.  Gullo Toyota, in conjunction with Toyota Motors, has made arrangements to have transportation provided to those that may fall into those categories.

We expect to have updates on a daily basis as to the status of the recall, parts production, and public notices, etc.  As we move forward, please feel free to contact us at Gullo with any of your concerns.  We are here to help to the very best of our ability.  The motto at Gullo Toyota is “treating you like family”.  It is a motto shared by all employees, and we strive on a daily basis to live up to it.  This will be no exception.  As I stated earlier, your trust and safety are at the forefront of our actions.  I have all the faith in the world that Toyota will not only address and repair this issue; they will do so in an expeditious manner never before seen by an automaker.  There is a Japanese term “kaizen”.  It means to continually improve.  It is a word that Toyota has embedded deep in their corporate culture.  Their commitment to this has been lauded as the best in the world; not just in the automotive industry, but all business period.  Rest assured that we at Gullo Toyota are ourselves continually working on this, and will along with Toyota Motors, be here for you and your vehicle needs now and in the future.  Thanks for your time, and again, please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have

Sincerely,
